If you are have a driving while impaired violation from the US (as opposed to driving while intoxicated) can you cross the border into canada?

Usually the Canadian border control will consider the two that you have described the same thing.  Expungement and/or the passage of time between when you want to cross the border from the time of your DUI will make a difference.

You may cross the boarder after you pay a $167.00 fine or permit as they call it


They will ask you if you have had any court dates in the last 10 years, what ever you


do don't lie to them because if they run your licence and find it they will turn you back for giving false information.
