I am in Franklin County, Ohio. This is my 3rd total offense, but only 2nd in 6 years. My court date is over and I got the charges reduced to a 1st offense with minimum sentencing on everything. Now, here is where it gets tricky. I looked everywhere and cannot determine exactly why they took my car in the first place or why it got immobilized. Is it because I have more than one offense, or because I refused all tests, or both??? From here, my case has been solved and my car sits in my driveway with no plates and a club device on it. I have called everyone and anyone you can think of an no one can give me the exact day my car will be deimmobilized. On top of that, is it possible since my charge was pleaded to a first offense that they can deimmobilze it right away??? It was in the impound for about 30 days, then it has been in my driveway with the club device for about an additional 30. That equals 60 days of course, and from what I have looked up with Ohio law (Franklin County) that this time counts from the moment they took my car, so I take it that at the very worst I only have 30 more days (90 days total)??? Still what is odd is that I have spent hours upon hours and no department (multiple police and the bmv) can answer the question on the status of my car......
